When Clean and Simple Meets a Nest of Fun

     Hi Everyone, Dalis here!
Sometimes a card just takes on a life of its own—and this one definitely did! I started out with the intention of keeping things clean and simple, using only three stamps. First up was Kid Witchy. Oh. Em. Gee. She is retro fabulous in every possible way, and I couldn’t wait to give her a starring role.

Since the challenge required me to include a bird, I thought, why not go a little unexpected with the Standing Chicken? She adds just the right dose of quirky fun. To finish things off, I reached for the “Wicked Never Looked So Good” sentiment. In my humble opinion, that sentiment could go on just about any card—it’s that good!

At this point, I was loving the crisp hexagon design and feeling very pleased with the clean look. But then… the nest happened. 😂 Suddenly, my “simple” card became a little wild, but in such a fun way. And honestly? I wouldn’t change a thing.

What do you think—do you prefer your cards to stay neat and tidy, or do you let them run a little wild sometimes too?

Supply List:

Additional Supplies: Memento Tuxedo Black, Watercolor pencils, Alcohol Markers, white gel pen, stitched speech bubbles, hexagon punches, pattern paper, border punches, threads and black bling.

Dancing Leaves

Hello, friends! Toni here with you today. Fall is my favorite season so I'm in my happy place right now with crisp air, colorful leaves, and blue skies.

I tried to capture that in my card.  I stamped the Skeleton Leaf 2 using a variety of Catherine Pooler inks randomly applied before stamping.  I then sponged the edges of the card front with a blue Catherine Pooler ink and spattered with water.

Next, I sponged a Lawn Fawn leaves coverplate. Aren't those orange tones gorgeous against the blue?!  My final step was to stamp the Autumn Dancing sentiment.

Spooks In The Cupboard Halloween Card

Hello Stamper! We have crazy spooks in the cupboard, and we are letting them out for Halloween!
I stamped the images on an ivory-colored card to give it an aged look.
I stamped the Cabinet and put brads for the drawer handles. The cabinet is colored with Copic markers, so I was able to color the brads to match the cabinet's color. There is a lot you can put in this cabinet.
The Spider Webs were stamped with gray ink to give them a dusty appearance.
Ghost Slimer was stamped to scare the Pirate Pumpkin.
The Skull and the Bat think they are all crazy.
The Spider wondered why he came out of his corner.
The last thing was to stamp Trick Or Treat.

Jukebox, Play My Favorite Song

Hello, Timothy here with a card using lyrics from my favorite song.
I started with a yellow cardstock base. I added a layer of bee themed
pattern paper on top of the yellow cardstock.
I colored the fun Jukebox stamp and cut it out leaving a white border.
I used foam squares to pop up the Jukebox.
I die cut alphabet dies in gold foil paper to create the lyrics
to one of my favorite songs.
Thanks for stopping by.

Halloween Tombstone Card

Hello Crafter! Vicky here today with a Halloween card using one of our funny tombstones.
The Tombstone is blank, so you can add your own saying or use one of our many sayings on the tombstone. The tombstone phrases come in sets or individual stamps. I added the hand below the tombstone and drew the lines for the grave.
I added the grass and the blue aura around the tombstone.

Snarky Cowboy Costume Picture Card

Hello, pilgrims! Today I'm sharing a snarky kind of Halloween card with you.
I noticed the Cowboy was actually wearing a horse costume and not riding an actual horse so, of course, I thought of Halloween.

I decided to go vintage, so I colored the image with Polychromos colored pencils and created a Polaroid photo, combining that with the farm-themed papers and the hilarious Banister of Life sentiment.

This reminds me of Jack Palance's character in City Slickers.  LOL.

When the Pumpkin Pirate Learned to Dance

Hi everyone, Dalis here!
I’ve had two crafty dreams on my list for a while: making a dancing card and finally inking up my Pumpkin Pirate from Crackerbox Stamps. Well, the stars (or maybe the cobwebs?) finally aligned! The only hitch? My pumpkin needed a body. Enter Kid Witchy, swooping in like a true hero. Now, don’t get me wrong—I am head-over-heels, can’t-stop-swooning in LOVE with her fabulous retro makeup. But this time, I borrowed her body so my pumpkin could bust a move.

To set the stage, I stamped the Web Corners (set of 2) in white pigment ink, then gave them a little heat embossing magic with white powder. Perfect spooky sparkle! The sentiment, Wicked Fun, was basically made for this project, and I couldn’t resist finishing things off with some Fall Essentials Die set goodies from my stash.

And there you have it—a Pumpkin Pirate ready to dance the night away.

Supply List:

Additional Supplies: Memento Tuxedo Black, Alcohol Markers, white gel pen, Fall Stitched Dies, white embossing powder, white

Silly Alien

Hello, Timothy here with a fun Alien card.
I started with a purple card base. I added a green cardstock layer and pattern paper that I cut with some wonky stitched dies. I colored and cut out the Alien Funny Face stamp and paired it with the
If Aliens Are Smart sentiment stamp. I layered the sentiment on green cardstock. I added three purple glitter stars to finish the card. Thanks for stopping by.

Trick or Treat Monsters

Hello, Janet here with a funny Halloween card. Even kid monsters come out for trick or treat!
I stamped Kid Frankenstein and Kid Vamp in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on white cardstock. I colored them with copic markers. Using a soft brush and black ink, I smudged the background. The trick or treat verse is stamped in the middle with Clair VersaFine Nocturne Ink. The image is layered on black cardstock slightly larger. Next, we moved on to a Halloween spider web paper.

Minions On Halloween Card

Hello Stampers. Vicky here today to share a funny Minion Halloween card.
I guess Lucy doesn't like to get scared, but one of the Minions is going to scare her anyway.
This was an easy card to make. I think kids or adults would like this card.

I stamped the saying, Don't Scare Me, trimmed it, and placed it on a piece of black cardstock.
I used a printed piece of Halloween paper for my card, and put it on black cardstock.
I stamped Lucy, colored her, and then fussy cut her out. I mounted her on a piece that I die-cut.

Boo and the Ghost Minion were stamped and trimmed.
They were mounted on black paper and printed paper to match the card's front.

I hope you enjoyed my spooky, silly Halloween card!
Vicky

Believe In Yourself

Hi, Timothy here sharing a little reminder to Believe In Yourself.
I started with a yellow cardstock base. I layered it with some plaid paper
leaving a border between each piece.
I colored and cut out the Harry image and his broom from the
Harry P set 1 stamp set. I cut around his hand and glued his
broom underneath to look as though he's holding it.
I stamped the Believing In Yourself sentiment stamp on yellow cardstock
and cut it into a rectangle. Lastly I added a few stars around
the sentiment.
Thank you for stopping by and have a good day!

Happy Harvest

Hello, Janet here with a colorful card for fall.
Start out with an arched-shaped piece of white cardstock. Stamp the Pumpkins in Fall stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Using copic markers, I colored the image. Next, place the image on a slightly larger piece of maroon arched paper. I layered that on a piece of fall colored, designed paper. The last layer is matching maroon paper. Using the 4 Seasons stamp, Autumn is stamped with Clair VersaFine Nocturne Ink on white cardstock and layered on maroon paper.

Fancy Halloween Witch

Toni here and I love spooky Halloween but cute definitely works for me too.  Is that true for you too?
I wanted to pair the Kid Witchy image with the Wicked Looked Good sentiment in some way and settled on the idea of a mirror.

I stamped and colored Kid Witchy with Copics, then fussy cut a rough oval to fit within the ornate oval die cut.  Next, I embossed the sentiment on vellum and fussy cut it out.  I added some fun Halloween striped paper as well as white pigment pen highlights. Adorable!
