Wassup?! Scary Movie Minion

Happy summer, friends! Toni here today with you to kick off the summer of Minions, including a sale on all Minions in the shop!

The Minions are ridiculously cute and I love using them in cardmaking. Couple that with my love of stretching my supplies in unexpected ways and you have the perfect mash up!

I was inspired by the new Minions & Monsters movie to create a series of cards based on--you guessed it--Hollywood movies.  The first is inspired by the satirical Scary Movies series, with #6 releasing earlier this year.

I stamped then masked the Cell Phone before stamping the Ghost Minion on the screen. I drew in the ghost face mask--and it looks it which makes it even funnier to me.

Next, I sponged the background in blue and embossed the Hashtags Snarky. I balanced the phone using  whimsical alphabet dies. And I had to use up that background pattern paper.  Just too cute!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card.

It's 5 o'Clock Somewhere

I don't know about you, but Clara here has the right idea! Toni here today, getting my party on.

I used a stencil along with Ranger Candied Apple Distress Ink and Catherine Pooler Something Borrowed to create the background.

Next, I colored up Clara with Cocktail Variations using Copics. Of course, I then decided it was too difficult to see Clara against that fab background, so I added a vellum panel.  Much better!

And is there a sentiment other than What Time Is a Good Time that pairs so well with the scene? I will continue to search for it!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card.

Cool Summer Wishes from the Fishes

Happy summer, friends! Or should I say, "bloop, bloop?" Toni here today with an underwater scene built from a variety of my favorite fish images.

My first step was to create the background.  I sprinkled a few Brusho watercolors on the cardstock and spritzed with water. I also used some Lindy's Magicals for a sparkly effect, but the pic doesn't really capture that well. Trust me--SPARKLE everywhere!

While that was drying, I stamped out Fish NibblesFish Snooper, and Fish Butch, which I colored with Copics, then fussy-cut.

The background had dried by this time, so I used a deckle edge die to cut it out and flatten it, then stamped Seaweed TallCoral Sea Plant, and Branch Herb 2 along the sea bottom.

Finally, I stamped and embossed the Cool Summer sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card.

Thank Goodness for Friends Like You Birthday Card

Hello, my friends! Toni here today sharing a snarky birthday card. No surprise there, huh?

I really liked the Crackerbox Stamps Birthday 1 sentiment but it's so mushy given my snarky bent so I sassed it up.  I colored up the Frog Laughing image and added the common text acronym "TG!"  Now that's what I'm talking about!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card.

Snarky Reasons I Need My Coffee Card

Good day, everyone!  Notice I didn't say "good morning?" Yeah, I'm totally that person.
Toni here with you today with a fun snarky card featuring the new Coffee 3 set.
This was a really simple card to make, truly. I swear it took me longer to decide on the papers to use for the coffee to-go cup than anything else. LOL.

I stamped the Lady Yelling in the corner of the card front and colored her up using Copics. I then randomly stamped the beans from the Coffee 1 set and positioned the to-go cup at an angle. I love that the Coffee 3 sentiment fits perfectly on the sleeve.

Notice how I didn't check off a specific reason? Probably should have an "All of the above" option or possibly "Other: ________."

Snarky Floral Coffee Card

We all have that one friend, don't we?  LOL.  Toni here with you today.

I love the combination of pretty papers and snark here. Doesn't the Lady with Coffee work perfectly with the Coffee Set 2 sentiment?

I hope this card gave you a laugh!  Thanks for stopping by.

Morning Coffee Card

Hello, friends! Toni here, and although I'm not a coffee drinker, I can so relate to needing that little pick-me-up.

I stamped the funny Snapdragon image onto Bristol white cardstock. I then used Catherine Pooler and Distress Oxide inks to sponge the edges of the panel. I used the same Distress Oxide ink to stamp the Honeycomb pattern.

Next, I colored up the Snapdragon image using copics, finding BG72 and BG75 a good match for the Distress Oxide Speckled Egg ink. I had a scrap of coordinating cardstock and paired that with a small hexagon die for the embossed Coffee Set 1 sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card.

Snarky Looney Toons Card

Hello, friends! Toni here today with a snarky card inspired by old school Looney Toon cartoons. Does Foghorn Leghorn ring a bell for you?

First, I sponged the background with Catherine Pooler inks and spattered it with water.  While that dried, I colored up the rooster.

I laid out the various pieces of  the scenes, having particular fun assembling the "I say" catchphrase in conjunction with the fabulous "Go Pluck Yourself" sentiment.

I hope this card gave you a great chuckle!  Thanks for stopping by.

Stenciled and Embossed Floral Sympathy Card

Hello, friends!  Toni here, and I'm so very excited about the 25% off sale.  Be sure to check it out and stock up on your favorite cling, summer, flower and Mother's Day stamps!

For my sale-inspired card, I used the Hydrangea Lg image but rather than coloring it up, I created my own stencil and sponged it.

I decided to make it into a sympathy card, keeping the colors muted with additional stenciling.

To finish up, I embossed the Love, Joy, Friendship sentiment on vellum using Ranger Copper embossing powder.

Masculine Frog Birthday Card

Hello, friends! Toni here with you sharing a humorous masculine birthday card.

I used a piece of designer paper from my stash for the water and scalloped round circle dies for the lily pads.

Next, I colored up Frog Grandpa with Polychromos colored pencils before stamping the Don't Worry About Getting Older sentiment with Versafine Clair Nocturne.

Apples Aren't Just for Your Health

Howdy, friends! Toni is with you today, sharing a humorous get-well card.

I used a stencil to create the apple background, which I then covered with a vellum panel.  I stamped and colored up the Horse Hanging On image using Copics.

I love how he's popping up over the Apple a Day sign.  So cheeky!

Pet Sympathy Card

Hello, friends. Toni here with a bittersweet pet sympathy card. Actually, you could use it for people, too.

I used a cloud mask with Catherine Pooler inks to create the background within the arch. I stamped the Feathers & Birds image using my MISTI and Versafine Clair Nocturne, but only one press was needed with that fabulous red rubber.

I embossed the kraft panel as it seemed too plain without that. I trimmed it down too, so that a bit of the white card base would show as framing and tie in to the arch.

The Wings Were Ready sentiment is quite lovely. Just the right amount of emotion without being too mushy.

Belated Birthday Bunny Card

Hi! I try my best(ish) and yet always seem to need belated birthday cards the most. Toni here, and let's hop right in and talk about today's project.

To start my card, I stamped the Bunny Blue image on the card front and colored it with Copics.

Then I used a numbers stencil with pale pink ink randomly on the card front — time is ticking!

I die-cut some balloons and sponged them with pastel pink and green. The belated birthday sentiment from Birthday Set 2 fits perfectly on the largest one.

Let's Try a Different Approach

Hello, friends!  Toni here, and I'm ready to womansplain something to you.  The whole planet has me shaking my head.

First, I stamped the Bug Mosquito using Catherine Pooler Orange Twist on Pop Tone Orange Fizz cardstock.  I then embossed the Mosquito Saying on Pop Tone Apple Green cardstock.  I love those two colors together.

I used a thin strip of black and white striped cardstock to separate the two, then added the Frog Being Crazy image, which I had fussy cut. Look at that poor frog--he's really feeling the mosquito!  LOL.

What a World

Hello, friends!
You ever have one of those days?
Toni here, and I swear the Life is Diarrhea sentiment is so apropos right now.

For my card, I stamped and colored up the Pig in Mud image, then fussy
-cut him out.  I used farm-themed patterned paper so he looked like he was among his people.

Then I stamped the Life is Diarrhea sentiment using Catherine Pooler Macchiato, the perfect brown to match the paper.

Pastel Winter Vibes

Hello, friends!  Toni here with a colorful card celebrating winter.

Creating the background didn't take me as long as you might think it would.  I used my large MISTI and grid paper to quickly align the Let It Snow sentiment on the front panel. I've been feeling pastel lately so used a few softer Catherine Pooler ink colors.

I colored up the Snowman Joy image using Polychromos colored pencils then mounted it on a lavender scalloped circle. Such a colorful and happy card--love it!

Yas, King Bob!

Hello, friends! Toni here with a whimsical Minions friendship/encouragement card. You can't go wrong with a Minion!

First, I die-cut the card front using a star coverplate. I then adhered that to the card front by covering the entire back with double-sided adhesive. Once the backing was removed from the adhesive, I added back a few of the stars so there would be a solid area to stamp the sentiment.

Then, I sprinkled a healthy amount of chunky glitter onto the remaining sticky openings and burnished it in using my fingers.  Yes, I should have worn gloves.

Finally, I adhered the oval image panel of King Bob, colored with Zig Real Brush Markers, to the front. I used my MISTI to stamp the Throw on a Crown sentiment a couple of times for maximum visibility on the uneven surface.

Snarky Crazy Alien Friendship Card

Greetings, Earthlings!  Toni here with you sharing a snarky friendship card.

To begin, I sponged the card front with shades of Catherine Pooler blue, then spattered with water and Copic Opaque White. I did know where my spaceship circle was going to go, so I could intentionally darken the area around the ship for depth.

I stamped the Alien Funny Face on scrap cardstock and colored it up. I intended to add glitter behind the acetate of the window he's peeking out of, but forgot, naturally.  LOL!

Card fully assembled and, more importantly, the blues dry, I stamped and embossed the Don't Understand sentiment in white.

Happy Valentine's Day, I Guess

Have you started on your Valentine's Day cards, or do you even celebrate?  I'd like to think my cat celebrates even if it's from under the bed when there are strangers in the house. LOL.  Toni (and her cat) here with a snarky little love card to share.
I stamped Annoyed Kitty on the front panel and watercolored the image with Zig Real Brush markers.

I had stamped the Who You Are sentiment, thinking to leave the card clean and simple, but it felt incomplete.  Thus, I decided to add the shimmery pink border with glittery heart garland. Now it feels like a proper Valentine!

Looking for Mr. Coffee Valentine

Holiday greetings, my friends!  Toni here sharing a snarky Valentine although that Helen with Coffee certainly conveys my exhaustion during the holidays.  Whew!

I stamped Helen with Coffee and the Mr. Coffee sentiment on Bristol cardstock. I then watercolored her with Zig Real Brush Markers. I created flooring using washi. Wasn't that easy?!
