Minions Halloween Fun-Fold & Snarky Christmas Cards

Hello, my friends!  Toni here with you today sharing a couple of cards using Minion characters from the new red rubber release. Let me show you but first take a look at all the cuteness!

My first project is a fun-fold Halloween card. I started my card by creating an easel very simply using an A2 card base where I scored the front at the halfway point, 2-1/8", in this case, and folded it into a mountain.

In order for the easel to stay upright, you need to add a little berm on the interior of the card that the front can rest against.  I used a piece of designer paper along with a strip of black glitter washi I had adhered to a piece of black cardstock to give it a bit more height.  I embossed the Don't Scare Me sentiment in white and added a couple of spider enamel dots.

Next I stamped and masked the minions, from left to right: Dave Jumping with Minion 1 bunny ears, Mummy StuartBride KevinGhost MinionFranken Bob, and Count Phil on a piece of Bristol and watercolored them with Zig Real Brush Markers.  I adhered this panel to only the bottom half of the card base folded panel so that when you mail it, it's completely flat.

As for the speech bubbles, I printed those on my laser printer with Aptos size 9 font, printed with white text on a black fill. They add a bit of extra fun.

For the Christmas card, I stamped Reindeer Stuart using Memento Tuxedo Black and masked the left antler before stamping Blowing Snowflakes.  I colored him up with Copics then added a snowy hill and the hilarious Winter Lovers sentiment balanced out by Snowflake Trio.

Masculine Beer Lover Interactive Birthday Card

Hello, my friends!  Toni here with you today sharing an interactive birthday card for beer-lovers.

I started my card with the brick background using a random combination of Distress Oxide Rusty Hinge and Fired Brick spattered with Black Soot as well as Copic Opaque White.

For the whirling mechanism I split up the Birthday 1 sentiment so when you turn it, you reveal the second half of the sentiment along with confetti from Birthday 2.

Humorous Interactive Birthday Card

Hello, friends!  Toni here with a happy little interactive birthday card with quite a snarky surprise.

I adapted a pull-tab mechanism to allow another image to pop up from the Birthday 2 cake which happened to be the perfect fit for the Birthday 1 vulture.  Yes, vulture!  LOL.

I used some foam tape on the bottom sides of the cake which allowed the vulture to pop up minus the tail feathers that I trimmed off.

I encourage you to check out the other new photopolymer stamps being offered by Crackerbox Stamps.  They're amazing!

St. Patrick's Day Shaker Card

Hello! Nadine here today with a St. Patrick's Day shaker card.

To create my card, I first stamped the Leprauchan Sheamus with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored it with Copic markers and fussy cut it out. Next, I die-cut out a circle on the front panel piece of my card. Used some Scor-Tape around the backside of the panel around the circle and adhered some acetate. Above the cutout circle, I stamped the Happy St. Patrick's Day Shamrock sentiment. I added foam squares all the way around the circle, making sure that the spaces between each one were small enough so that the Irish Party shaker pieces couldn't fit through. I added more foam squares around the outer edges of the front card panel and adhered it to my card front. Then, I adhered the Leprauchan Sheamus to the front of my card.

4th of July Parade Shaker Card

Hello friendsEricka here, and today I have a fun 4th of July shaker card using the 4th of July Kids stamp. I love this fun stamp, and it reminds me of our yearly 4th of July neighborhood parade.

I stamped the Happy 4th Big sentiment, and white heat embossed it on my red cardstock. I die-cut an opening on the cardstock and then glued a piece of clear plastic to the opening. I lined the plastic with some foam tape and added my fun sequins from my stash. I stamped the 4th of July Kids stamp in Versafine Clair Twilight and clear embossed it, and added it to the back. I attached my shaker to a card base to finish up my card. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a wonderful week!

Out of This World Cards

Hello! Thanks so much for stopping by! This is Shanna from Caffeinated Craftiness, and I am excited to share a pair of cards today featuring some fabulous stamps from Crackerbox Stamps.

Ever make a background just to make a background? I wanted to watercolor one day, and I had zero ideas what I would use the finished watercolor sheet on. I played around with some metallic watercolors I have and ended up with a Galaxy-type background. I loved it and then promptly forgot about it in my background drawer! LOL. When I was sorting through things, I came across it, and inspiration struck immediately with these stamps! It was totally meant to be!

Today's cards feature the following Crackerbox Stamps:

For the first card, I used the Alien Peace, If Aliens are Smart, and Rocket stamps. I cut my background panel to 4"x 5.25" and matted it only a black A2 card base. Then I heat-embossed my sentiment in white embossing powder onto black cardstock. I used my paper trimmer to cut the right side of the sentiment at an angle for some interest. I attached the sentiment to the lower left corner of my background. The Alien Peace image was colored using Copic markers and then fussy cut it out. I adhered him to where he looked like he was standing on the sentiment strip. The Rocket was also colored with Copic markers and fussy cutout, then adhered to the upper right of the card panel. That finished off this card!
My second card is actually an infinity shaker card. Infinity shakers are made with an acetate pocket that attaches over the entire panel. I used one that fit the 4"x 5.25" background panel and was filled with some embellishments that matched my theme (stars and such). I love my focal point, though, for this card! That alien makes me giggle. I colored the Alien Funny Face and Moon Full stamps with my Copic markers and fussy cut them both out. I layered them in the center of my panel and used a strong wet adhesive to attach them to the center of my shaker panel. My sentiment was heat embossed onto black cardstock and cut into a strip that matched the width of the shaker panel--4.25". I glued the sentiment strip directly onto the shaker panel as well, also hiding the raw edge of the alien at the same time!
That finishes up my post for today! I hope this inspires you to dig through your scraps or unused background and create!

Until next time,
Shanna

Pocket Gift Card Holder Birthday Card

Hello! Nadine here today with a pocket gift card holder birthday card.

I first stamped the Pocket stamp and then stamped the Cherries on the pocket and colored them all with Copic Markers. On the stitching on the pocket, I used a gold colored pencil. Once colored, I fussy cut out the pocket and applied a liquid adhesive to the bottom edge and side edges of the pocket, leaving the top open so I could slide a gift card into it. For the sentiment, I stamped My Sweet Friend along the top of the card front. Then matted the card front with red cardstock and adhered it to the card base.

Magic and Bright Minion Christmas Card

Hello crafty friends! Ericka here and I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Today I have a fun Christmas card I made using Bob the Minion with and fun Santa Hat

I started by stamping Bob and masking the top to add the Santa's Hat stamp. I colored it all up with some watercolor markers and then added the Snowflakes and heat-embossed the with a Turquoise powder for some fun sparkle. I then added some light shading around the card with Distress Oxide ink Salvage Patina and for some added fun, I used Liquitex Glass Beads as snow on the bottom of my card.

I then decided I wanted to make Bob a little more fun and stamped him and the hat on a separate piece of paper. After coloring them up, I added them to my card using an action wobble so he became more interactive.

I finished my card by adding the Magic and Bright sentiment and used some clear sparkle to heat emboss the image. I love this Santa Hat and can't wait to use it on some more of my minions to make fun Christmas cards. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful week!

Minion Wobble Birthday Card

Hello crafty friends! Ericka here, and today I have a fun minion birthday card I created for one of my students. I love these minions and all the great sentiments that go along with them.

I started by using Distress Spray Stains in Mermaid Lagoon and Squeezed Lemonade on Bristol Smooth paper. While my background was drying, I stamped the Stuart with Cupcake, and clear heat embossed him. I used watercolor markers to color him and then fussy cut him out.

I stamped the Once in a Minion sentiment along with the Birthday #7, and clear heat embossed them so they would stand out from my background.

I finished my card by attaching my minion to my card using an Action Wobble. I love these fun wobbles; they add a little extra fun to every card. Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you have a wonderful week!

Easy Swing Card for Father's Day!

Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia here with an easy way to create a Swing Card for Father's Day!

We have a great collection of sentiments and images in the Crackerbox Store. You can use this design for any occasion. Just changing the colors and the stamps. On my card, I used the Best Dad Ever sentiment from the most recent release and the fabulous Super Guy image.

I stamped the Best Dad Ever sentiment and the  Super Guy image onto white smooth cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black In. Then I colored the  Super Guy with TriBlend Markers from Spectrum Noir. Additionally, I used designer paper in coordinated colors to enhance the details of the image.

For the Swing Card, I used a new amazing die-cut design with circles in different sizes and designs. If you want to know all the details about this set of dies and more details about my easy swing card for Father's Day, you can find them HERE on my STAMPARTPAPEL Blog.

What the Duck?? Interactive Slimline Card

Hello and welcome!  This is Shanna today with a fun interactive card featuring stamps from Crackerbox stamps.  I couldn't resist making the cute little duckies "swim"--and the grumpy toad seemed appropriate to be staring at them!  LOL

I started by stamping out 3 little small Duckies and the Frog Grumpy in a Copic safe ink and coloring them all before I fussy cut them out.  I set them aside and then started on my background.  There are a few different ways to achieve the background--I happen to have a die in my stash that helps build the interactive parts--but this scene would be just as adorable if they didn't move either!

I used Distress Oxide inks to ink blend my water, shore, and clouds.  I layered all the pieces together and then added my images.  I stamped the What the Duck sentiment directly onto the panel in black ink.

I am a sucker for interactive cards--and the snarky puns get me every time! The little duckies swim/rock back and forth in the water when you pull the tab out.

Thanks for stopping by today!

You can find more inspiration, and share your own fabulous projects in the Crackerbox and Suzy Flaunt it if You Made it Facebook group! That wraps up my post for today, I will be back here soon with another dose of red rubber inspiration! Be sure to follow along with me over on Instagram and Facebook to keep up with all my caffeinated adventures! Till next time, bye!

Grumpy Frog Infinity Shaker Birthday Card

It's Marcia today with a grumpy frog infinity shaker birthday card for your best friend. The frog stamp is part of the new April release; be sure to visit the New Stamps category to see all the funny new sentiments and images.

Supplies used:
Frog Grumpy
100% Sweet
Without Me (Currently on sale!)
Birthday 4

Infinity shaker cards are really fun and quite popular right now.  I'm a fan of using tulle for shaker cards because it is so much easier (and quicker) to use.  I began by stamping the frog on a scrap of watercolor green paper in green ink, using the same ink color for the sentiments.  I colored the spots and eyelids on the frog with a yellow alcohol marker and added a shadow to the eye.  I colored the rest of the eyeball with a white gel pen, adding "shine" dots to the pupils.

To add the frog and speech bubble to the front of the tulle infinity panel, I first adhered just the bottom part of the tulle to the bottom back of the card panel with double-sided tape.  Then, I flipped up the tulle panel and added the frog and speech bubble to the tulle with foam adhesive where I wanted them on the card front.

To prevent the foam tape adhesive from interfering with the shaker elements once assembled, I attached scrap paper to the backside of the foam tape that shows through the tulle (see pic).  This prevents the shaker elements from attaching to the exposed adhesive.  Then I merely closed up the tulle front, adding my shaker mixture before adhering to the final flap of tulle.

The inside of the card wasn't left untouched.  I stamped the frog again using second-generation stamping for a lighter image.  (First, stamp the image off onto a scrap of paper and then stamp the second time onto the intended surface.)  The "Happy Birthday" was stamped in black ink.
