Rosie Mixed Media Art Journal Page

It's Marcia on the Crackerbox Stamps blog today with a mixed media art page featuring iconic strong girl Rosie.

Supplies used:
Rosie
Anything Possible

I printed the lyrics to the song Unstoppable by Sia in a soft grey then stamped Rosie atop in black, embossing in clear.  I hand dyed the paper in leftover onion skin dye from Easter eggs (my husband is Romanian -- beautiful natural dying technique) and further distressed it with various inks and a distress tool.  While hard to see, I foiled portions of the printed lyrics with scraps to give it a very subtle effect.  (I own a laser printer which enables me to foil anything I print.)  I cut down a scrap of ruled paper from my daughter's writing tablet, layering strips of various papers down the left edge.

I figured out where I wanted to place the Rosie panel and then stamped the Anything Possible sentiment onto the ruled paper.  I lightly inked around the edge of the ruled page and then added Rosie.  I had a scrap of gold foil leftover from a different project (the negative piece I removed) and added it tucked just under the Rosie panel.  I stapled the page in a couple of places, including a trio of gold stars.  To finish the page, I splattered pink, gold, and black gloss sprays.  I've really enjoyed dabbling with mixed media and find combining my love of color, vintage, and emotion so soul soothing.
