Marker Thumping + A Video Tutorial

Hi everyone! It's Lindsay here, from Crafting While Caffeinated Blog & YouTube Channel. I am so excited to be here today and I have a super fun technique to share with you. I did a bit of research on "older" stamping techniques awhile ago and in that research I came across so many wonderful and fun techniques that I myself wanted to try. Today's Marker Thumping technique is one of those! It's super easy, requires only a few supplies and has some fun results. Be sure to watch the video tutorial below for all the details!

This technique is super easy but here are a few tips to help you along the way. The first is rubber stamps work best. That's why I LOVE Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps for this technique. The rubber is going to allow the ink from the markers to lay nicely and not bead up for the best results.

Also, markers are a MUST for the marker thumping technique, specifically water based with a
harder tip. Bristles won't work. I used Memento markers, but Distress markers, Spectrum Aqua, etc. will work just as well! You can use as many or few (no less than 2, though) markers as you want. Just be sure your stamp is large enough to accomodate all your colors and not muddy up.

Finally, I used a stamp positioner, specifically the MISTI, which makes this technique easier. However, you can use any positioner for this, including the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig. You can also get away with not using a stamp positioner, but you need to be more precise with your marker "thumping" and be sure your colors dont overlap so much they get muddy.

And while I'm here I want to remind you of a few things. First, today is the LAST DAY to hop along with the new release blog hop. You have a chance to win one of two $25 Gift cards that are up for grabs!! All you need to do is leave a comment at each stop along the hop!
